Ullapool To Stornoway ferry crossing.  Ullapool is the main ferry crossing to the Isles of Lewis which is the North west corner of the group of Islands known as the Hebrides, or Western Isles.  The Hebrides are known as the "long islands" as they stretch for 100 miles.  Tigh Na Failte Ullapool bed and breakfast is situated just five minutes walk from the Ullapool ferry terminal.  The Ullapool crossing to Lewis takes you to Stornoway ithe main town on the Isle of Lewis.  Just over 6,000 people live in the town, which represents about a third of the Islands total population.  The economy is a mix of traditional businesses like fishing, Harris Tweed and farming, with more recent influences like Tourism, the oil industry and commerce brought about by the digital revolution and communications.
